Pneumatic Seals & Cylinder Seal Kits
Cylinder seals, cushion rings and dust seals for industrial pneumatics and automation
Overview
Pneumatic Seal Types
Pneumatic Piston Seals
Piston rings and seals including COP, Z5, Z8, ZT, PZ, PPD and E4 profiles for ISO 15552/6432 cylinders.
Best for: Double-acting and single-acting pneumatic cylinders
Pneumatic Rod Seals
Rod seals including Y-QYD, QYD and compact profiles for cylinder rod glands.
Best for: Pneumatic cylinder rods and valve spools
Pneumatic Dust Seals
Wipers and excluders including MYA, ZHM, EM and DOP profiles for rod contamination control.
Best for: Factory automation, outdoor pneumatics, dusty environments
Cushion Seals & Buffer Pads
End-of-stroke cushioning seals and buffer rings for smooth deceleration and reduced impact.
Best for: High-speed cylinders, pick-and-place, automation
Buffer Caps & Flat Gaskets
End-cap seals, solenoid valve gaskets and flat sealing elements for pneumatic valves and manifolds.
Best for: SMC, Festo and AirTAC compatible valve bodies and end caps
Pneumatic Accessories & Hardware
Integral pistons (DK/DE/DP), piston plates (DSBC/DPRS), buffer caps (DNC/AirTAC), cushion rings (PA) and solenoid valve flat gaskets (CSP) — the small hardware that completes a pneumatic seal package.
Best for: Pneumatic cylinder rebuilds, SMC/AirTAC maintenance, valve service
Materials
| Material | Properties | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| NBR | -40°C to +120°C; low compression set; good resilience; economical for compressed air | Standard pneumatic cylinders and valves; also used for buffer caps, valve gaskets and pneumatic hardware |
| TPU | -35°C to +80°C; excellent abrasion and tear resistance; long life in high-cycle service | High-cycle actuators, rodless cylinders, abrasive conditions; also used for integral pistons, piston plates and wear-resistant hardware |
| FKM | -20°C to +200°C; resistant to heat, synthetic lubricants and chemical vapors | High-temperature pneumatics, chemically contaminated air |
Sizing
Pneumatic seals are sized by cylinder bore or rod diameter and the specific groove of the profile. Many profiles follow ISO 15552 or manufacturer-specific standards. Provide the cylinder model, bore, rod diameter and profile name, or send a drawing for cross-reference.
ISO 15552 / 6432 Compatible
- • Bore diameters: 8–320 mm
- • Piston and rod profiles for SMC, Festo, AirTAC
- • NBR and TPU standard stock
Custom Pneumatic Seals
- • Manufactured from drawing or sample
- • Special profiles for proprietary cylinders

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between pneumatic and hydraulic seals?
Pneumatic seals operate at lower pressure and prioritize low friction, fast response and long life in dry or lightly lubricated air. Hydraulic seals handle higher pressure and focus on extrusion resistance, fluid retention and wear resistance in oil.
Can hydraulic seals be used in pneumatic cylinders?
Not generally. Hydraulic U-cups and piston seals often have too much friction for pneumatic service. Pneumatic-specific profiles are designed for lower pressure and faster cycling with minimal lubrication.
What causes a pneumatic cylinder to creep or stick?
Creep or stick-slip is usually caused by excessive seal friction, contaminated or undersized seals, worn rod/bore surfaces, or lack of lubrication. Low-friction pneumatic profiles and proper filtration solve most issues.
Are your pneumatic seals compatible with SMC and Festo cylinders?
Yes. We supply profiles that fit ISO 15552, ISO 6432 and common manufacturer-specific grooves used by SMC, Festo, AirTAC and other major brands. Send the cylinder model for cross-reference.
Do you supply complete pneumatic cylinder seal kits?
Yes. We supply seal kits containing piston seal, rod seal, wipers and cushion seals matched to the cylinder bore and rod diameter. Kits are available for common ISO sizes and custom cylinders.
What material is best for high-speed pneumatic cylinders?
TPU is preferred for high-speed, high-cycle pneumatic cylinders because of its excellent abrasion resistance and resilience. NBR is suitable for standard speeds and temperatures. FKM is used for heat or chemical exposure.
Can't find your seal profile in this list?
We manufacture many additional profiles including Y-type, Z-type, EC, YA, V-type backup rings, integral pistons (DK/DE/DP), buffer caps, cushion rings and solenoid valve gaskets. Send us a drawing or sample for a quotation — MOQ from 1 piece.
