Overview
Food and beverage processing equipment requires O-ring materials that are safe for incidental or direct food contact, resistant to CIP/SIP cleaning chemicals and able to withstand steam sterilisation. Regulatory compliance is non-negotiable — the wrong material can result in contamination, failed audits and product recalls.
Our food grade O-rings are manufactured from FDA 21 CFR-compliant compounds in EPDM, VMQ (Silicone) and PTFE. NSF 61 certified grades for potable water contact and EC 1935/2004 compliant materials for European food contact regulations are available.

What does FDA-grade O-ring mean?
FDA-grade means the O-ring compound formulation complies with FDA 21 CFR regulations for food contact materials. The specific regulation depends on material: 21 CFR 177.2600 for rubber and 21 CFR 177.1550 for PTFE. FDA-grade O-rings use only approved ingredients in their compound formulation.
Which O-ring material is best for dairy applications?
EPDM is the standard choice for dairy — it resists hot water, steam and the alkaline detergents used in CIP cleaning (caustic soda). FDA-grade EPDM with NSF 61 certification is recommended for direct product contact applications.
Can you supply O-rings that meet EC 1935/2004 for European food contact?
